Moving to Matthews, NC before the age of one, Matt calls the Charlotte-suburb his home. After graduating from East Mecklenburg High School, he attended both North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His undergraduate studies and his personal interest in politics landed him an internship with Congresswoman Sue Myrick (R- N.C. 9th). Matt worked in Sue’s office for 4 years and assisted with multiple re-election campaigns.
Matt has appeared in numerous movies and television shows. Just some of his film resume includes the movies of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, The Bay, and more. Last year, Matt held a stand-in role on the Showtime Network series of Homeland.
Matt also worked for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team Lafferty Motorsports. As Director of Marketing and Public Relations, he was responsible for bringing in advertisers and sponsorships for the Team. Matt successfully brought in numerous companies interested in partnering with Lafferty Motorsports. Matt was also in charge of the driver’s schedule of appearances and press releases for the Team.
In February 2012, Matt was hired on to the Congressional Campaign for Jim Pendergraph after U.S. Congresswoman Sue Myrick announced she would not be seeking re-election. Matt looks forward to working with Jim as he campaigns for the Congressional seat for NC-09.
